Hereford Heating Ltd are recruiting to fulfil an increasing demand across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire. We have a number of Servicing/Maintenance and installation roles available for Gas, LPG, Oil and Renewables Engineers. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the qualifications, experience, customer service skills, appearance and attitude expected from our customers and clients. A competitive salary and package is available and will be dependent on experience with the potential to increase based on additional skills/qualifications gained.
Hereford Heating Ltd is a Service, Maintenance, and Installations business. As one of our Gas Safe / OFTEC registered engineers, you will be the face of our business in our customers’ homes. You will undertake servicing, fault finding and repairs on a range of domestic gas and oil appliances, to keep our customers safe and warm.
If you are a highly skilled registered Engineer, with a “can do” attitude, focused on providing exceptional customer service we want to hear from you.
You will be ACS/OFTEC qualified with a minimum of CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CPA1 and ideally OFT101/105E.

Subcontractor Opportunities
About the Opportunity
Hereford Heating Limited is establishing a framework of approved subcontractors to support increasing levels of work across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire. We are seeking experienced, fully qualified Gas, LPG, Oil, and Renewable Heating Engineers, including specialists in Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) technologies, to partner with us during periods of peak demand and for ongoing project support.
If you are a professional, customer-focused engineer or small business with the technical competence and capacity to take on subcontracted installations, we would like to hear from you.
Approved subcontractors will support us with:
- Boiler installations (Gas, LPG and Oil)
- Air Source Heat Pump installations and commissioning
- Heating system upgrades, smart controls and energy-efficiency improvements
- Short-notice work during peak seasonal demand
Subcontract work is allocated based on skillset, location and availability. Rates and job volumes are agreed in advance to ensure clarity and consistency.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Gas (ACS) – Required for Gas/LPG Work
- CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
- CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
- HTR1 – Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
- CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis
- Current Gas Safe Registration (company or individual)
Oil (OFTEC) – Required for Oil Work
- OFT10-101 – Pressure Jet Service/Commission
- OFT10-105E – Oil Appliance Installation
- Active OFTEC registration
Air Source Heat Pumps / Renewables – Required for ASHP Work
- Level 3 Heat Pump Systems Qualification (LCL/BPEC/City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience installing and commissioning ASHPs
- Knowledge of low-temperature heating and system design
- Unvented Hot Water Systems (G3)
General Requirements
- Public liability insurance (minimum £2m)
- UTR number (for subcontractor payments)
- Own tools, transport, and relevant diagnostic equipment
- Professional appearance, strong communication skills
- Commitment to excellent customer service and safe working practices
